Literacy Programs in Fredericton, New Brunswick

Frontier College is Canada's original literacy organization. In Fredericton, we recruit volunteers to work with learners in the following literacy programs. We screen and train all of our volunteers before they go into the community. Homework Clubs

Doone St. Community Centre Homework Club (bilingual)
Tutors work with school-aged children and youth to help them with reading, writing, math and homework projects. This program is open to all children and youth in the Fredericton area.

Homework Club for Newcomers at the Multicultural Association of Fredericton (bilingual)
Tutors work with newcomer children and youth on homework and language skills. Parents are also invited to join a “conversation circle” where a tutor leads a discussion to help them practice their own language skills.

Boys & Girls Club Homework and Reading Clubs – Devon (Northside) and Skyline Acres (Southside) locations (bilingual)
Tutors help kids attending the after-school program with reading and homework.

Youth Homework Club at the Maison des Jeunes (French)
Tutors help students (aged 12-18) attending French classes at École Ste-Anne or other high schools with their homework.

Homework Club for Newcomers at the Centre communautaire Ste-Anne (French)
Tutors help newcomer students attending classes at École des Bâtisseurs, École Ste-Anne or any other school with their homework in French. Tutors are also available to help students improve their French language skills.

Adult Literacy Program

Adult Newcomer Literacy Program at the Multicultural Association of Fredericton (bilingual)
Tutors work with newcomers to improve their literacy skills through interactive reading and writing activities.

One-to-One tutoring

Youth One-to-One Tutoring (bilingual)
Tutors help high school students with their school work, reading, writing, organizational skills, etc.

One-to-One Tutoring (bilingual)
Tutors are paired up with children, youth and adults who need help with reading, writing or language skills.
