Literacy Programs in Sherbrooke, Quebec

Frontier College is Canada's original literacy organization. In Sherbrooke, we recruit volunteers to work with learners in the following literacy programs. We screen and train all of our volunteers before they go into the community. Reading Circles

We run a weekly reading circle at l'École Larocque.

Homework Clubs

There are four Homework Clubs where our volunteer tutors help children and youth to complete their homework after school. They are held every week at the Famille Espoir community centre, at École de la Montée (Lebert Pavillion), at École Larocque and at École aux Quatre-vents.

One-to-one Tutoring with Adults

We provide one-to-one tutoring for adults who wish to improve their literacy or French as a Second Language (FSL) skills in the following adult literacy community organizations and Service Centres for immigrants: Maison de la famille Rêve et Espoir , Centre d'Éducation Populaire de l'Estrie, Service d'aide aux néo-canadiens, Soutien aux familles réfugiées et immigrantes de l'Estrie.
