Affordable and comprehensive math resources based on the Ontario curriculum (Grades 1–8); tutoring support provided in partnership with a growing number of community organizations

JUMP Math is a registered charity founded in 2001 by award-winning mathematician, author and playwright Dr. John Mighton. JUMP Math believes that every child can be successful at mathematics and is dedicated to improving mathematical literacy in communities and classrooms through its evidence-based program.

JUMP Math’s approach to student success is based on:

Promoting positive learning environments to build confidence through praise and encouragement;
Focusing on both conceptual and procedural learning concurrently;
Breaking down concepts and skills into small sequential steps to achieve understanding and mastery;
Raising the bar incrementally to keep all students engaged and attentive; and
Guiding students to explore and discover mathematics.

Led by Dr. Mighton, our team of mathematicians has developed a full range of curriculum-based resources (Grades 1–8) that are available to the general public. As a non-profit organization, JUMP Math makes every effort to keep its resources and services affordable. Many resources are available at no cost through the JUMP Math website.

JUMP Math also works with a variety of community organizations to provide support and JUMP Math resources to tutoring and mentoring initiatives aimed at vulnerable students.
