Brief Description
The after school home work club is a small group home work support program for children 10-12 years of age. The youth tutoring program works with youth 13-18 that are experiencing difficulties at school. The children are matched with a volunteer tutor who assists them with a variety of educational subjects, the focus being primarily reading and math. This program was developed in response to recurring concerns expressed by parents, program staff and local teachers. This program is free of charge, giving access to parents who could not otherwise afford this type of assistance for their children. Tutors are recruited from the local community and receive supervision and training from the Youth worker and After School Program Staff.
