LG of New Brunswick visits Summer Literacy and Math Camps

On July 14, 2017, The Hon. Jocelyne Roy Vienneau, Lieutenant Governor of New Brunswick visited the Summer Literacy and Math camp in Elsipogtog First Nation. The camp is a partnership between Frontier College and the Mi'kmaq community which is located approximately 80km northwest of Moncton.

The Lieutenant Governor, who was accompanied by her husband, His Honour Ronald Vienneau, was welcomed by several Councillors from the community as well as the Director of Education, Ivan Augustine. Their Honours brought several story books with them which they read to campers and later gifted to the program. Her Honour also spoke to campers her role and responsibilities as vice-regal of the province. Their Honours were then treated to an enthusiastic performance of the camp song and camp cheer by the children, and they also presented Her Honour with some thank you cards which they had made at camp.
