On June 16, we received a wonderful donation as a result of CBC's Canada Reads. Author Lawrence Hill presented a cheque on behalf of publisher HarperCollins Canada. The donation will support our Aboriginal Summer Literacy Camps serving 120 communities in 9 provinces and territories.

We are looking for volunteers in Toronto to run our popular Reading Tents at various outdoor locations in the city including summer day camp programs, community events, and festivals. These tents run primarily on weekdays for 2 to 3 hours between 9:30 am and 4:30 pm from mid-June to mid-August.

For the past decade, TD has worked with Frontier College to create early literacy opportunities in Aboriginal communities.  In 2015, TD made a further $2.5 million donation to Frontier College to expand the program to reach more Indigenous children. This is the largest donation made to a single organization in TD’s history. This is a story of collaboration, one that is better positioning Aboriginal youth for success. We are thrilled to announce that Stephen Faul will be joining the Frontier College team as President and CEO. Stephen comes to us from Imagine Canada where he is Vice-President, Strategic Communications and Business Development. In this role, Stephen has done high-level fundraising, and strategic marketing and has acted as media spokesperson - among many other things! Previous to his role at Imagine Canada, Stephen was Executive Director at Second Harvest.
