Scrabble For Literacy 2022 was a huge success, raising over $83,000 for Frontier College literacy programs in Canada.
On March 10, Scrabble fans across Canada joined host Elvira Kurt, celebrity players Colin Mochrie and Debra McGrath, and Scrabble ringers Josh and Chloe for an evening of fun and fundraising. This was serious playing, with some of the highest scoring words being PLEX, BARITONE, SQUID, and, fittingly, AWARDING.
The winners of the preliminary tournament round were Natalyn Sadsad and Sumedha Chawla, who went on to play in the live event. Competion was fierce, with Natalyn coming out on top with a final score of 380 points.
We hope to see you all next year.
