Frontier College is looking for new recruits to join our team of passionate volunteer tutors!
What is a volunteer tutor?
Volunteer tutors assist learners in building their literacy and numeracy skills, which increases their confidence, self-esteem and opportunities for the future. Volunteers have the choice to work with kids, teens, or adults, one-on-one or in group settings in one of our twenty partner programs in and around Vancouver. On average, tutors spend two to four hours per week with the program partner and learners, assisting the program lead in planning and delivering the session activities. Tutors work directly with learners on their homework assignments, life skills, and other engaging, inclusive, and fun learning activities.
Why volunteer with Frontier College?
Because of our many partnerships across the Lower Mainland, we are able to offer volunteers flexible options for location, timing, and who they will be working with. This means volunteers can find their best fit for a rewarding experience.
Volunteers receive free training from Frontier College, no previous experience required. Volunteers are eligible for a reference from Frontier College after 6 months in any of our programs.
Making a difference.
Our volunteer tutors make a positive impact in the lives of their learning partners by supporting their educational goals, nurturing their confidence, and realizing their abilities. This partnership is a two-way street; in the words of one of our volunteers, “Make a difference in someone’s life, and let them change yours!”
