Introducing the OT, 2017-2018

Hi there! My name is Simone Desjardins and I am Frontier College's Intern for the 2017-2018 academic year. I am in my fourth year of Concurrent Education at Laurentian University and I aspire to teach French and English one day! This will be my third year volunteering with Frontier College -- in the past I have been a part of one-to-one tutoring, Homework Club and Math Club. This year I will be the Student-Tutor coordinator for Math Club at Lansdowne Public School.
I am so excited to see what this year has in store for our learners as well as the  Organizational Team!

Hi everyone! My name is Alex McNamara and I am in my third year of Concurrent Education here at Laurentian! I am majoring in history with a double minor in French and geography. This will be my second year volunteering with Frontier College. Last year I had my placement in the Math Club and Homework Club programs. This year, I will be the STC for both the New Sudbury and South End Library Math Clubs and for the Junior Book Club at Queen Elizabeth. I am looking forward to meeting and getting to know all of you and I know we will have a great year volunteering with Frontier College.

Hi! My name is Alicia Dalanyi and I am one of the Student-Tutor Coordinators on the Frontier College Organizational Team this year! After volunteering with Frontier College during my EDUC 0190 placement (like many of you), I fell in love with the teaching ideals and practices based around literacy! I have been volunteering ever since; this is currently my fifth year with Frontier, and I have had experiences with almost every program we offer. This year you can expect to see me at our Professional Development Days. Otherwise please keep an eye out for me in your Inbox, as I am the STC for the Lansdowne 1-1 tutors. Don't forget, not all heroes wear capes! Welcome to Frontier!

Hi! My name is Emily Philp-Preuss and I am in my fourth year of the Concurrent Education program at LU. I have been with Frontier for three years now and have been part of 1 on 1 tutoring, math club, and Louis St. I became a part of Frontier through my first placement and have continued as an STC since! This year I will be the STC for Princess Anne math club.
I look forward to meeting everyone and having another great year with Frontier!
